Friday December 6, 2024 10 ish pm. Quick, friendly, helpful, and courteous interaction and purchase. I know I wanted al pastor but, not sure with what? The lovely sales lady said to get a costena burrito which was a fully loaded burrito. I asked for extra cilantro and onions. It came with a crema and 2 different hot sauce which mixed together went well with the burrito n chips. Well made and didn't fall apart while eating because it was lightly toasted on the outside. It was still piping hot with the 6 block walk in 30 degree Temps. Definitely, a spot to try if you are in the area. Their cemitas, torts, and tacos are awesome as well.

I've been coming here for over 10 years. This deli is serving up amazing Mexican food and more! No matter what time I order, the food is always fresh and made to order. They have the best carnita tacos. I ordered carnita tacos, chicken quesadilla, BLT with cheese and mayo on a roll, a Philly cheesteak sandwich with French fries with cheese. The carnita tacos are packed with flavor, and they are garnished with white onions and cilantro. The chicken quesadilla is delicious, and the chicken is tender and packed with flavor. BLT sandwich was good, and the Philly steak sandwich was delicious. Their green and red sauce is delicious as well. This place serves up some of the best Mexican food in the parksope area.

Excellent Mexican food hidden away in an unassuming deli. You'd never know it was here, unless someone told you about it... The tacos are delicious but very salty. Better than some of the local taco trucks - more flavor and less filler. The deli has a good selection of Mexican groceries; it also has a large Asian soup section. They charge extra for hot water - think this is for the lunch crowd seeking a cheap quick meal to go. They also have a small pastry section as well as dried peppers, many kinds of salsas, beverages, tortillas, household items etc etc. Worth checking out - especially on weekends.

Is one of the best Mexican restaurants in New York really tucked inside a deli? Yes, yes it is. The tacos and Reyes Burrito are phenomenal. Get the homemade salsa roja. It's got a smoky chipotle edge that just ties the whole thing together.

Don't know how I forgot to review Reyes! I've been in this neighborhood and eating there now over ten years, and Reyes has always been a wonderful, clean, and lively spot for the same kind of authentic tacos that I grew up on in southern California and on trips to Baja. You can tell they're a hard working family business that values their customers. I think their strength is their tacos (al pastor, pollo, and asada in particular. Veggie great too, almost like a quesadilla.). But they do everything nicely - tortas, burritos, quesadillas, real good tamales on weekends. Even basic American stuff on the grill like burgers, breakfast things, fries. I've seen various generations of the family working the register and they're all really good folks who make sure you get what you need.
